At the end of the 19th century, more than 9,000 windmills dotted the rural areas of the Netherlands, some of them built specifically to drain the lowlands, known as polders. In the polders, among these windmills, fields of colorful tulips stretched out: the flower that was once immersed in the turbulent history of the first financial bubble, but is now simply an essential part of the Dutch landscape, especially on the famous “Bloemen Route,” or “Flower Route.”

In The Valley of the Windmills, a game inspired by the Flower Route, up to 4 players take on the role of farmers and tulip entrepreneurs. You will build and improve your windmills, search for new tulip bulbs through foreign trade or among local sellers to buy and plant them, and try to gain an advantage with helpers and lucrative contracts. Make your competitors green with envy as they admire your fields in bloom!
