In Gaia Project, the successor to the acclaimed Terra Mystica, each player controls one of fourteen different factions fighting to peacefully colonize the galaxy. Each faction has different environmental needs in order to survive on the seven different types of planets, and each faction is tied to its home planet. These needs have led the factions to master terraforming, as in order to grow and develop, they must terraform the planets neighboring their native environment, competing with other players. During the game, you will colonize new planets, upgrade mines to create better structures, and unite planets to form federations, and you will need to research and discover new technologies to improve your abilities.

The game board consists of ten sectors, allowing for a random layout that guarantees high replayability, improving on its predecessor in this regard. For two players, the board is made up of seven sectors instead of ten.

All factions can improve their abilities in six different areas of development (Terraforming, Navigation, Artificial Intelligence, Project Gaia, Economy, and Science), gaining special benefits and technological advances. Each group has specific abilities and skills that will help them throughout the game.

Asymmetrical factions with unique abilities, variable conditions, a modular board, and endless combinations make Gaia Project an exciting game with almost infinite replayability and fun. The choice is yours: Will you expand near other factions, giving you power and trading partners, or will you seek solitude, where you can expand more freely? In the end, only the most developed faction will win.
