Change is coming to Derbyshire, England, where four families, all with young gentlemen and ladies of marriageable age, are embroiled in romance and intrigue during a time of optimism.

You are the head of a respected but unfortunate family in Victorian England. After several decades of austerity, the family fortune is recovering. Your goal is to renovate a neglected estate, restore the family's tarnished reputation, and improve the marriage prospects of your marriageable children, thereby strengthening your ties to the wealthy and influential Fairchild family.

During the game, you will have to make your estate more attractive, expand your social connections, gain a high reputation in the county, have numerous and educated domestic staff, and even try to successfully court one of the Fairchilds!
