After a series of calamities devastated civilization, societies around the world are rebuilding in harmony with nature. Scotland lies in ruins, and the ancient clans have taken on the task of restoring the land. As clan leaders, you will compete for strategic control of the land and its prestigious castles.

Rebirth is a tile-placement game in which players lead clans rebuilding Scotland or Ireland after a catastrophe, competing for control of the territory through strategic tile placement. On each turn, the player places the tile in their hand on an empty space on the board, scores according to the type of tile and its grouping, and draws a new tile from their supply. Food and energy farms score based on contiguous groups of the same type and color, while settlements are scored for influence when completed, awarding more points to the player with the greatest presence. Castles are controlled by having the majority of adjacent tiles, and cathedrals allow players to obtain private mission cards with secret objectives on the Scotland map, while on the Ireland map they trigger immediate effects (with public missions). The game ends when all players have placed all their tiles, scoring points for incomplete settlements, controlled castles, and, on the Scotland map, completed private mission cards.
